Sichuan Railways flagship tourist train, themed around the regions beloved giant panda. Bright contemporary suites, a dedicated childrens activity car, and a Sichuan-cuisine kitchen renowned as the best food on rails in China.

The Panda Deluxe brings warmth and whimsy to luxury rail. Designed for multi-generational families with a childrens activity car, but equally suited to couples and solo travellers drawn by the food. The Sichuan galley is, by broad consensus, the finest kitchen on Chinese rails.

Bright contemporary design with bamboo accents. Twin or double bed, en-suite with shower. Panda-themed welcome amenities for families.

Panda Suite

Family configuration: double bedroom plus separate twin room. Shared en-suite, panda books and toys, child-height windows.

Premium Suite

King bed, separate sitting area, writing desk. En-suite with rainfall shower and Sichuan tea-set amenities. Ideal for couples.

Sichuan Dining

Each meal is a masterclass: mapo tofu, kung pao chicken, twice-cooked pork, legendary hotpot. Spice level adjustable. Western options always available. Cooking demonstrations are a guest favourite.

Childrens Activity Car

Dedicated carriage with games, crafts, books and cinema corner. Supervised activities during adult excursions. The only car of its kind on Chinese luxury rails.

Tea Ceremony Room

Daily gongfu tea ceremonies. Learn about Sichuans tea culture from a tea master: Mengding Ganlu, bamboo-leaf green, Tibetan butter tea.

Mahjong Lounge

Four tables. Onboard team teaches beginners. A uniquely Sichuan social experience.

Chengdu

Sichuans laid-back capital. Giant Panda Breeding Base with 50+ pandas, best visited at dawn. Jinli Ancient Street and Wuhou Shrine.

Leshan Giant Buddha

71-metre seated Buddha carved into a cliff face in the 8th century. The largest pre-modern statue in the world. Viewed from river and cliff path.

Jiuzhaigou National Park

118 turquoise lakes, multi-tiered waterfalls, ancient forests. Autumn transforms the valley into crimson, gold and emerald. Full day with private guide.

Huanglong

Terraced travertine pools cascading down a mountain valley. Best visited after Jiuzhaigou, completing one of Chinas greatest two-park natural wonders.
